Goldene Letter for Atlas of the Conflict, bronze medal for Gerd Arntz |

The Atlas of the Conflict has won the 'Goldene Letter' in the international competition Schönste Bücher aus Aller Welt and Gerd Arntz. Graphic Designer has won a bronze medal. In Leipzig a seven-person international jury worked its way through almost 600 books from 32 countries, including the Dutch entries from the Best Dutch Book Designs of 2010.
Our heartiest congratulations go to the designers Joost Grootens and Ontwerpwerk and to author and editors Malkit Shoshan, Ed Annink and Max Bruinsma. Jury rapport about Atlas of the Conflict: 'This book constitutes visual communication of the highest order. An instrument to facilitate understanding, discussion and reflection. Not a gratuitous design book but one which is both essential and eminently usable.' Jury rapport about Gerd Arntz: 'The bookÕs design works sensitively with areas of colour, partly underlying the illustrations, and dutifully transmits the expression contained within the pictorial language through clear and precise typography.'
