| Best World Book Design, Bronze Medal 1990 Best Dutch Book Design 1989 Wim Quist is known chiefly for the many museums he has built in the Netherlands, including the extension to the Kröller-Müller Museum in Otterlo, the Museum of Education in The Hague, and the Maritime Museum in Rotterdam. Even his early work, such as the water-purification plant at Berenplaat of 1959-1965 demonstrate Quist’s gifts as an inventive structural designer, who manages to reveal the essence of the task by expressing both function and construction in an exemplary manner. Recent designs by Quist include the Rotterdam Theatre (Schouwburg) and the Willemswerf office slab, both in Rotterdam. |

| Wim Quist is vooral bekend door de vele musea die hij in Nederland heeft gebouwd, zoals de uitbreiding van het Rijksmuseum Kröller-Müller in Otterlo, het Onderwijsmuseum in Den Haag en het Maritiem Museum in Rotterdam. Reeds in zijn vroegere werk, o.a. het drinkwaterproductiebedrijf Berenplaat dat in de periode 1959-1965 tot stand kwam, toont Quist zijn grote begaafdheid in het expressief blootleggen van functie en constructie. Recente werken van Quist zijn de Schouwburg en het kantoorgebouw Willemswerf, beide te Rotterdam. | ||
